For ten days, May 12 – 21, EUROPAfest 2016 will revive the capital’s musical stage, gathering in Bucharest over 300 musicians from 45 countries from Europe, but also special guests from other countries, such as US, Australia, Venezuela, Hong Kong and Japan: jazz, blues, pop & classic, all in one event.
Under the slogan “It’s all about live quality music!”, the festival’s 2016 edition will celebrate 23 years of concerts, contests, unforgettable encounters with musicians from all around the world, creative synergies, excitement, ecstatic audiences, ambience and bon-tone.
The ten days of the festival will bring performances, recitals, international competitions, jam sessions, workshops and autograph sessions.
The events will take place in various venues in Bucharest and Sibiu: Odeon Theatre, Cervantes Institute, the Italian Institute, Arcub Gabroveni Hall, Thalia Hall, Rossini Hall, Enescu Hall, Berlioz Hall, Ibis Caffe L’Estaminet and Athenee Palace Hilton.
“Being a musician, I created EUROPAfest with passion (…) In those 23 years of existence we chose to focus on content, diversity, on the new wave of artists on purpose and less on image, on the nice packing that would sell. I believe we have an audience avid of beauty, of quality things, who appreciate an authentic festival and I am glad that the number of spectators is exponentially growing year by year,” said the director of the festival, Luigi Gageos.
EUROPAfest is patronized by the Royal House of Romania, while in 2015 the European Commission and the European Parliament reconfirmed the festival’s value by granting it the EFFE, Europe’s Finest Festivals title.
Tickets are already put up for sale. Details on the concerts available at www.jmEvents.ro.
