Belgian developer Warehouses DePauw (WDP) is building a new factory for Japan’s Yazaki, following an investment of EUR 14 million located in Braila, Southeast Romania, the financial report for Q1 shows.
The total investment in the spaces in Braila amounts to EUR 23 million and there is going to be manufactured cables for BMW cars. WDP is building a new production facility for Yazaki, covering 26,000 square meters. Construction works will be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.
Last fall, WDP finalized for Yazaki the factory of auto wiring systems with an area of 16,000 square meters on a land under concession near the Danube, in Braila. The lease agreement was signed for a period of 15 years, and the investment amounted to EUR 9 million.
Moreover, WDP is also building a new unit in Brasov, of 2,000 square meters for Kuehne + Nagel, whose completion is scheduled for the third quarter of this year, the financial report reads. In this regard, the lease agreement was signed for a period of seven years and the investment budget amounts to about EUR 1 million.
In the coming period, WDP will complete a production unit in Sibiu, where Siemens has leased an area of 8,000 square meters, but also a warehouse and an office space of 4,500 square meters for the DPD courier company. The investments in Sibiu are amounting to EUR 8 million.
WDP has about 100 ha of land in Romania for development and six projects with a net lettable area of 46,489 sqm. The portfolio value reaches to EUR 50.3 million.
