The investment for Sibiu-Pitesti motorway will reach EUR 3.34 billion (RON 15 billion), a Transport Ministry normative draft, posted on the ministry’s website, reads. For comparison, the Master Plan adopted last year had included investments amounting to EUR 1.6-1.8 billion.
Annex 1 points to an overall value of the contract of RON 15.06 billion, i.e. EUR 3.34 billion at an exchange rate of RON 4.5241 for EUR 1.
According to the Master Plan, adopted by government decision 666/2016, the Sibiu-Pitesti motorway needed investments amounting to EUR 1.6-1.8 billion and was to be funded by European funds in a 75% share.
The normative draft claims that “against the feasibility study conducted in 2008, several revisions have taken place, mainly on reinvestigating the land and studying the route options” according to the issues in the area.
The deadline for submitting proposals and observations to the Transport Ministry regarding the normative draft is July 28, 2017.
