The first snowfall of this season was reported at Bâlea Lac, in the mountain area of Sibiu county on Thursday. Weather forecasters announced that the temperature went bellow zero in Făgăraș Mountains, at over 2,000m altitude.
According to the meteorologist on duty at the Regional Transylvania South Sibiu weather forecast center, Adrian Pasol, it has snowed for one hour on Wednesday, while it was spitting on Thursday, with snow patches laying over.
“Snow patches laid down at Bâlea Lac, a very thin layer, it’s a snowfall under one liter per square meter,” Pasol said.
He said that on Wednesday nigh to Thursday minus 1 Celsius degree was reported at Bâlea Lac, while there will be maximum 1 Celsius degree on Thursday.
